Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Customs Brokerage Senior Entry Writer to join our growing team. The Senior Entry Writer will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and submission of customs entries for a variety of commodities, ensuring compliance with all CBP regulation and other government agency requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of customs valuation and free trade agreements, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and transmit accurate and compliant customs entries.
Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and other import documentation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Research and apply correct HTS classification
Determine appropriate customs valuation methods and apply relevant duties, taxes and fees.
Pay the customs duties on time through the customs system.
Resolve discrepancies, troubleshoot issues and provide solutions related to customs entries.
Maintain accurate and organized entry files in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Communicate with the bond company and purchase a bond.
Assist with the training and mentoring of entry writers.
Support audit request from CBP and internal compliance teams.
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 6 years of experience as an Entry Writer in a customs brokerage environment.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or a high school diploma/GED.
Competency in Microsoft Office and Google applications Analyst.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively via email, phone, and during face to face meetings.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and function independently, within authorized limits
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in customs brokerage, supply chain or logistics operations
Physical Requirements
This is largely a sedentary role requiring the physical ability to:
Sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer
Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephone
Speak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phone
Occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or lift up to 10 pounds
This position operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.
The work environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise level and is climate controlled.
- Salary: Your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. We anticipate this role to pay a minimum base salary of $70,000, but actual base pay will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience

Location/Remote Eligibility
This is a role based out of our Rancho Dominguez, CA office.
Schedule
Standard office hours at 8:30AM – 5:30PM Monday through Friday. There may be flexibility regarding start and end times.
Work hours may vary and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
